Students appearing for the computerized version of the ASVAB have to solve 11 Shop Information (SI) questions in 6 minutes. The ASVAB is a computer adaptive examination, which means the difficulty level of the questions will increase or decrease, based on the answers you provide.

Candidates taking the pencil and paper version of the ASVAB have to solve 25 Shop Information (SI) questions in 11 minutes. However, the paper and pencil version of the ASVAB information paper comes with Auto and Shop sub-tests together.

  • The questions will be of multiple-choice type. You will be given four answer options for every question, from where you will need to select the right answer.

You have to concentrate on these tools and get to know them well so that you can answer all the answers relating to them in the test correctly.

It is also important for you to know the various procedures that are used when working with construction materials, metals or wood. The questions that you will find in the Shop Information (SI) subtest may ask you to choose the right procedure to follow while working with a specific material. You will only be able to answer the question correctly if you know these processes well.
